"Although there is already data registration e-ID card, Population Census is still necessary, because the utilization is different. Population Census data and e-ID cards are complementary. Demographic parameters data for development in Indonesia were obtained from SP2020 ". The explanation was made by Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Indonesia, Sri Moertiningsih Adioetomo, while attending the International Seminar on Preparing the Population Census 2020.
The seminar which was held in Meeting Room of Building 1 Floor 10, Tuesday (14/11) was opened by Head of BPS, Kecuk Suhariyanto. "BPS will adjust the scope as the UN recommends to no longer only use traditional methods, but also make use of population administration data. This method is called combined method that is a mix of population registration data and census data collection ", explained Kecuk.

Sairi Hasbullah (Deputy of Social Statistics), Zudan Arif Fakrulloh (Director General of Population and Civil Registry, Ministry of Home Affairs), Mr. Chris Library (Australian Bureau Statistics), Mrs. Pattama Amornsirisomboon (Director of Social Statistics Division of National Statistics Office of Thailand), and two Professors of the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Indonesia, Sri Moertiningsih Adioetomo, and Aris Ananta, and moderated by Richard Joanes Makalew UNFPA.
It is said Kecuk, Population Census 2020 is not only the task of BPS but the task of this nation. Sairi affirms that BPS needs the support of all parties to capture the dynamics, extraordinary changes, individualism, privacy and the very complexity of SP2020. "Indonesia is ready to face the SP2020 and Indonesia will succeed if the nation's component shoulder to shoulder supports SP2020", said Sairi.
Aris Ananta mentions the problem of ethnicity, ethnicity, language, and religion that can be peeled from SP2020 can give an overview of social phenomenon in society, from various aspects, such as social, politic, culture and broad economy.
