Survey of Horticultural Crop Cost Structure in 2018 (SOUH2018)

The horticulture sub-sector provides gross value added in the Indonesian economy which reaches IDR 196 trillion in 2017, but only contributes 1.44 percent of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Meanwhile, of the total value added of the Agriculture sector which reached 1,785 trillion rupiah, the horticulture subsector contributed 11 percent.

The horticultural sub-sector plays an important role in increasing food security through the provision of horticultural products (vegetables, fruits and medicinal plants). In connection with this, data is needed that can describe the structure of costs, the profile of business farmers, and business characteristics of horticultural crops. In meeting these data needs, a Survey of Horticultural Crop Cost Structure in 2018 (SOUH2018) is conducted.
